The Duck UMC Youth Ministry seeks to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We use the disciple-making system, REACH, CONNECT, EQUIP, and SERVE, as our process for developing mature Christian youth. Please contact Amy Denson (261-1525 or firstname.lastname@example.org) for additional information.
REACH -- Youth Group, 5-7 PM Our large group youth ministry program combines fun, fellowship, and worship to help our youth experience God and love one another. We eat dinner, play games, worship, are challenged by a message from God's Word, and meet in small groups to apply God's Word to our lives. Each week, our bus picks up youth at the Lowe's in Kill Devil Hills at 4:30 PM and at the Marketplace in Southern Shores (in the parking lot near Starbucks) at 4:45 PM.
CONNECT -- Worship, Sundays 8 AM, 9:30 AM, or 11 AM The Christian life should never be lived alone! So, we encourage our youth to experience God in worship with our intergenerational church family.
EQUIP - Youth Sunday School, Sundays 9:30 AM In our youth Sunday School, youth connect in relationship with each other and with God. We spend half of our time together sharing prayer requests and how we've seen God in our lives over the past week. The other half of our time is spent getting into the Word and applying it to our daily walk with Christ.
SERVE - Student Leader Bible Study, Tuesdays 7-8:30 PM At our Bible study, we dig deep into God's word and encourage one another to have a personal devotion time with God each day. Our student leaders serve in the youth ministry and in different roles throughout the church.
Special Events Throughout the year we have special events including retreats, fellowship events, mission projects, and outreach opportunities.
