Young Adult Retreat Opportunity

Dear Young Adults of Duck Church,

The NC Global Methodist Church has forwarded the following opportunity to our Church Council. We are extending the invite to you, our resident Young Adults, with an offer to pay the $200 registration fee, should you want to go!

Dear Church Leaders,

We are excited to share about our 2nd Annual Young Adult “Around the Fire” Conference, taking place November 20–22 at the Dogwood on Lake Norman Retreat Center.

The "Stir the Fire Within: A Call to Be Holy" retreat is designed to create space for young adults to connect, grow in their faith, and build meaningful relationships within our conference and across our wider church community.

Registration opened May 1, and the cost is $200 per participant. Registration deadline October 31st.

We recognize that reaching and engaging young adults can be a challenging area for many churches. This demographic is often underrepresented in our congregations and at events like this. Yet, we believe this is a vital season of life—one that deserves intentional investment, encouragement, and support.

Round The Fire is a wonderful retreat, where young people can come together to relax but also come together in worship & fellowship with believers their age. Our goal is to share that they are not alone in being a Christian in the world and help build friendships that they can call upon when things are hard. We will have 4 speakers, whose messages will focus on bringing Scriptural Holiness into your everyday live. We will also have time for small group discussions, games will be available during free time and there is some shopping nearby if some desire to go offsite. There is worship built into each session (4 over the weekend) and we will share in Holy Communion Saturday evening before a Round the Fire Smores night! Again, time for fun and fellowship.

Check in: Friday November 20th - 5-8pm

Session 7pm - 10pm

Saturday 9 am - 10 pm

Sunday 11 am checkout and head home

All meals Saturday and Sunday and two nights lodging included.

Retreat Center above Charlotte, about 6 1/2 hours from OBX
