Mission Report from Aulander

Yesterday, seven of our Duck United Methodist Church Youth traveled 2.5 hours from the Outer Banks to Aulander to deliver your Angel Tree gifts. While there, we learned about the Little Leaders and Junior Leaders. The Little Leaders meet on Tuesdays, the Junior Leaders on Wednesdays, and another Little Leaders group meets in Williamston on Thursdays. These young folks are learning how to focus, listen, and be ready to serve when asked. Ms. Laura, the pastor of All God's Children UMC, read a story about angels. She then gifted each of our Duck UMC Youth with an angel wing ornament and asked us to share the wings with someone who might need encouragement this holiday season. At the end of our time together, the Little Leaders inspired us with their joy as they opened their presents.

Along with the wrapped gifts, each child received a hand-made quilt from the Outer Banks Blanketeers, Duck Church's quilting ministry. The Little Leaders from Williamston weren't able to join us, but their gifts will be delivered this afternoon.
