The doctor was very pleased with how well she did. Please continue your prayers for PJ and her mother.

June 22

June 19

Please continue prayer for my family, my Sister, Rose Smith, went to her Heavenly Home last night.

We have received the following prayer request from Mildred Quertermous. Mildred and Connie lived in Southern Shores and were faithful servants here at Duck Church. They live in SC. Please add Connie Quertermous to your prayer list. Connie has been diagnosed with colon cancer and is due to have surgery on Thursday June 25. The day after she notified her employer of this, she was called in and fired causing her to lose all life and health insurance as well as income. This is a very depressed area, and I am also without work or benefits. We both need your prayers.

Thank you.

Mildred Quertermous

June 12:

Please say a prayer for Kay Powell’s husband, who had a heart attack yesterday. He is having heart catherization today at Virginia Beach Hospital on First Colonial Rd.

June 9:

Lori is responding to the chemo, and in the “off” period leading up to her second round of four treatments, her own antibodies are climbing with the red blood cells at a better level. A very good sign. She’s determined to keep fighting through the “blahs”, and is up to walking 3 miles a day … a far cry from her running marathons and strength training. We have received the following prayer request from Lois Thomas: Please add Denise Miller to our prayer request list. Denise is my daughter, Mickie's, best friend since elementary school. Denise has colon cancer that has metastasized to her liver and after surgery is now taking chemo treatments. She is in her early 50's, just retired from the NATSB. Denise’s only family is her younger sister.

June 5:

Please pray for Mystie, Julia Ray's 10-year-old niece as she is hospitalized to cleanse her body of complications of her prescriptions and for the doctors to have the wisdom to properly treat her as well as for her to not be depressed over missing her family.

May 29:

Update on Lori Campbell, wife of Curtis Campbell, pastor of Kitty Hawk UMC Prayer is a powerful thing. We got word today that although Lori Campbell’s platelets are still at “zero”, the doctor has agreed to let her come home for a short stay. She will then return to Chapel Hill for further chemo (at least 4 more sessions). She is so excited, has a wonderful outlook, and is overwhelmed by the prayers and its warriors. Of course, she and Curtis can only “virtually” hug, and touch briefly (kind of like when ET touched his finger to the little boy). God is good! Please keep praying for Lori Continue to pray for Susan Darke’s brother, Rick Allsbrook, as he undergoes additional testing. Please add Anna Johnson to your prayer list. Anna will be undergoing surgery on Tuesday at Albemarle Hospital.

May 27:

This coming Saturday, there will be a car wash fundraiser at Kitty Hawk Elementary School to raise money for the Breit family after Cole’s surgery. Come by the school from 8 am-2 pm to show your love and support for the Breits.

May 26

Please put Marty Myers in your prayers. He is undergoing knee replacement surgery today at the OBX hospital.

May 22

Lew Gregory who is receiving radiation treatments for recurring prostate cancer.

Also please pray for Sharon Davis, KHUMC member and KHES teacher as she deals with cancer.

Always:

Pray for our nation as we have people in financial stress.

Pray for our leaders that they may make the right choices.

Prayer for our church:

Eternal God, source of guidance and direction, what you require of us you also reveal, and what you ask of us you also enable. There is nothing good that we do apart from your making it possible. You are the author and the finisher of our faith. We give thanks for Christ Jesus, who fulfills on our behalf all that you could possibly want us to be. We give thanks for the Holy Scripture, which sets forth your will and way for your chosen people. We give thanks for the Holy Spirit, who encourages in every way. Hear us this day as we pray for your church in Duck, North Carolina. In your great and abundant mercy help make us a place of hospitality that all who enter this sacred place may know that they are loved and accepted. Hear our intercessions on behalf of others, and strengthen us to sere them in appropriate ways. We lift up all the leaders of our church and ask that you encourage and strengthen them in their calling. Attune our lives to the intent of your commandments, that we may come to love you with soul, mind, and body and be enabled to love our neighbors as ourselves. We pray in the name of Jesus, who makes possible such love.
