Always:

Pray for our nation as we have people in financial stress.

Pray for our leaders that they may make the right choices.

Prayer for our church:

Eternal God, source of guidance and direction, what you require of us you also reveal, and what you ask of us you also enable. There is nothing good that we do apart from your making it possible. You are the author and the finisher of our faith. We give thanks for Christ Jesus, who fulfills on our behalf all that you could possibly want us to be. We give thanks for the Holy Scripture, which sets forth your will and way for your chosen people. We give thanks for the Holy Spirit, who encourages in every way. Hear us this day as we pray for your church in Duck, North Carolina. In your great and abundant mercy help make us a place of hospitality that all who enter this sacred place may know that they are loved and accepted. Hear our intercessions on behalf of others, and strengthen us to sere them in appropriate ways. We lift up all the leaders of our church and ask that you encourage and strengthen them in their calling. Attune our lives to the intent of your commandments, that we may come to love you with soul, mind, and body and be enabled to love our neighbors as ourselves. We pray in the name of Jesus, who makes possible such love.

Praise and Thanks:

ASpecial Thanks to Al Fox and Ms June Furlano I would like to take this opportunity to thank Al Fox and June Forlano for arranging all the ladies and men of the church who sat with me all day for almost a month when I first got home from UNC-Chapel Hill. These sitters kept me company, as well as prepared meals for me. I know that it was a time-consuming task, and it was greatly appreciated.

I’d also like to thank the many men and women that showed up early to get me to various doctors’ appointments all over the Outer Banks. A lot of them had to wait hours while I had my chemo treatments. Even though all of these people made sacrifices of their time and energy, I was the real recipient in the whole thing. I got to meet and spend quality time with a lot of my fellow Duck Church members that I had not had an opportunity to really spend time with. I also got to spend time with a lot of close friends that I had not talked with for months.

Duck Church is full of incredible people. I can’t think of any other church that I would rather be a member of. Thank you & God bless - Al, June and Duck Church,

Max
