Betty Jennette has requested prayers for their daughter, Lori Jonkers. She was admitted to a hospital in FL this morning for testing.

Suzanne Slegel’s surgery has been rescheduled to Feb. 12. Continue to keep she and Ray in your prayers.Ray has started chemo treatments. Pray for them as well as the medical teams taking care of them.

Please pray for a friend of the family. Carolyn Woodson who has been fighting a hard battle with cancer, has slipped into a coma and is not expected to recover. Please pray for her comfort and for her family.

Please add Dan Ottavio, son in law of Pop Springfield, to your prayer list. After his long battle with kidney problems they have diagnosed him with Pancreatic cancer, but are hopeful they can operate as it is in the early stages.

Januay 21

Please add Ray and Suzanne Slegel to your prayers. Ray has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and will start chemo on Tuesday. Suzanne will have open heart surgery on February 4 at Norfolk Sentara Heart Hospital.

Kenneth Meade passed away in Florida. He was suffering from liver/pancreas cancer. He and his wife, Robin, were very active at Duck Church when they were here.

Glenda McRary has requested prayers for her granddaughter who is Autistic and having other difficulties.

Bob Ruff is requesting prayers for Jane Harvey, wife of Bob Harvey, who are former members of Duck Church. Jane needs surgery and has not been able to get access to the needed medical care. Please pray that she will get the medical care needed.

Pray for our nation as we have people in financial stress.

Pray for our leaders that they may make the right choices.

Prayer for our church:

Eternal God, source of guidance and direction, what you require of us you also reveal, and what you ask of us you also enable. There is nothing good that we do apart from your making it possible. You are the author and the finisher of our faith. We give thanks for Christ Jesus, who fulfills on our behalf all that you could possibly want us to be. We give thanks for the Holy Scripture, which sets forth your will and way for your chosen people. We give thanks for the Holy Spirit, who encourages in every way. Hear us this day as we pray for your church in Duck, North Carolina. In your great and abundant mercy help make us a place of hospitality that all who enter this sacred place may know that they are loved and accepted. Hear our intercessions on behalf of others, and strengthen us to sere them in appropriate ways. We lift up all the leaders of our church and ask that you encourage and strengthen them in their calling. Attune our lives to the intent of your commandments, that we may come to love you with soul, mind, and body and be enabled to love our neighbors as ourselves. We pray in the name of Jesus, who makes possible such love.
