Methodist Church Cross Duck United Methodist Church:

A place of worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and witness.

Food for Thought:

In September, Food for Thought began its fourth full school year of delivering bags of nutritious weekend food to Dare County elementary students who meet special criteria of need. This criteria encompasses all students whose family income qualifies them to receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch in the school system. Food for Thought is currently supplying food for 442 youth each week!

At the Food for Thought annual meeting and luncheon, which was held in October, Dr. June Atkinson, Superintendent of Education for the State of North Carolina, applauded the grassroots community efforts to bring forth such a program. She was especially delighted to find that it was inspired through a Disciple 1 Bible study class right here at Duck United Methodist Church, and she told us that she, also a Methodist, has completed four Disciple study classes at her own church.

Food for Thought continues to be an all-volunteer organization, thanks to the generosity of many churches and organizations that help through donations, packing and prayers. As always, heartfelt thanks to the generous Duck congregation!
