Summer Parking - This is the season to be mindful of our commercial neighbors working to make a living on Sunday morning. As they are gracious in sharing their parking space with us, we want to respect their customer parking needs. To our south Nags Head Hammocks shares much of their parking with some space reserved for their customers. The shops to the north, and, in particular, the vegetable stand have some parking reserved for their customers. Be mindful of their needs as you come to church. Stop, shop and thank them for their kindness.

The Louise Althouse Book Club will discuss The Aviator's Wife by Melanie Benjamin on Monday, July 10th at 9:30 AM at Kathy Horne's, 77 Wild Swan Lane, Southern Shores.

Duck United Methodist Women’s Cookbook: The Duck United Methodist Women are putting together a new cookbook to raise funds for local and distant mission projects.  Watch the June Sunday morning bulletins for recipe submission forms, pre-order information, and other exciting details. The deadline for recipe submission is July 15th.
Our Duck men grew beards and mustaches in March to raise funds.  Several of our women participated in “growing” beards and many more of them successfully supported the effort with their monetary votes. We are now counting on the men to support our effort with recipe submissions and promoting and purchasing the finished product.
Let’s all work together “…to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”! Ephesians. 2:10

Carved Olive Wood Gifts from Bethlehem
Many of you may remember George Ghanhem and his lovely family. He has a Ph.D. in child psychology and trains refugee workers in Sudan,Turkey, and the Middle East to help refugees there, especially children. He also helps Christians in Bethlehem by bringing their beautiful carved olive wood gifts to churches for sale. Many of us remember his annual visits here and look forward to them. He will be with us on Sunday, August 13.

Mark your calendars! Lifetouch will be taking photos for our new Pictorial Church Directory on October 5th thru 7th, and the 9th and 10th. If you would like to be on the Church Directory Team, please contact Debbie Breit.

Duck Devotions - Duck Church is starting a weekly devotional ministry for our members, by our members, and we need your help. Have you been writing devotionals you'd allow us to share through this ministry? Been mulling over a life event, particular scripture, or thoughtful exchange that could be the basis of a devotional to inspire, encourage, and lift others? Whether you're an experienced author or first time writer, your heart is what we seek. For more details please email Emily Parrish at Emily.B.Parrish@gmail.com. Thanks! We look forward to writing and growing together!

Duck UMW Jazz and Jumble Sale - Rummage, Crafts and Baked Goods. Our ZOE Mission to support orphans and vulnerable children in Rwanda by sponsoring a village continues with our "ZOE V" fund raising. These children are taught how to provide food and make a living through farming and animal husbandry. They are taught trades to help achieve financial independence. The total cost per child is $350 which covers expenses for a 3 year period of training. From near starvation and no shelter these children advance to being self sufficient. We began our latest fund drive as our Mission Team left for Rwanda in February and to date have received pledges to assist 162 children. Our goal for 2017 is 225 children. If you would like to sponsor an orphan go to our Home page and click on "Online Giving" or call the church office at 252-261-1525.
