There are many opportunities to use your time and talents as a volunteer for the seventh annual Special Olympics Spring Games at First Flight High School in KDH on Saturday, April 28th. Volunteers are needed for the day of Spring Games to be athlete escorts and to help in the field. If you would like to make more of a commitment, coaching assistance and program help is needed for the eight weeks prior to the games. The Opening Ceremonies start at 10:00 AM, volunteers need to arrive by 8:30AM. The games generally close before 2:00 PM. Planning meetings are held at the Kill Devil Hills Rec Center, 602 Mustian Street. If any of this speaks to your heart, please call Jackie Klamut, 252-255-1996 or Kelli Miller, 252-475-5924 for more information.
Our ZOE Mission to support orphans and vulnerable children in Rwanda by sponsoring a village continues with our "ZOE VI" fund raising. These children are taught how to provide food and make a living through farming and animal husbandry. They are taught trades to help achieve financial independence. The total cost per child is $350 which covers expenses for a 3 year period of training. From near starvation and no shelter these children advance to being self sufficient. We began our latest fund drive as our Mission Team leave for Rwanda in February and to date have received pledges to assist 89 children. Our goal for 2018 is 225 children. If you would like to sponsor an orphan go to our Home page and click on "Online Giving" or call the church office at 252-261-1525.
