Ministry

Care Ministry

The Care Ministry is a vital part of our church family. We have many people willing to offer care when a need arises. We have people who want to cook an deliver meals. Others can run errands, offer transportation, and/or call to see how people re doing. We are just a phone call away. Please contact Pat Gibson for additional information.

Grief Share

Grief share is a special small group and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. Grief Share features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Grief share meets on Tuesday mornings at 11 at the church. Please contact Lynn Blackburn for additional information.

Prayer Shawl

The Prayer Shawl Ministry knits and crochets prayer shawls and lap blankets for those who ar ill or in need of comfort. We also make blankets for the new babies in the congregation. We meet each Thursday from 1-2:30 at the church. Please contact Alice Keim for additional information.

Children's Ministry

Children's Ministry

Children's Sunday School meets each Sunday during the 10 o'clock service for preschool through fifth grade children during the school year. In the summer, children gather together for Children's Church. Special events for the children take place during holidays (Easter and Christmas) as well as Vacation Bible School each summer. Nursery & Toddler/Two's

The Nursery and Toddler/Two's Rooms are focused on providing quality childcare during all three services as well as Tuesday morning during Oasis Bible Study nd Wednesday evening during Young Adults Small Group. We welcome our littlest ones with a warm, clean environment and a smile. Parents can enjoy the message from Pastor Ray and the awesome music from the choir. Katie's Books

In memory of a little girl who loved snuggling with a story, and dearly loved Duck Church, a special collection of children's books, music and videos are available for your enjoyment. Please visit the collection often, and sign out an item to enjoy with your family. Bookshelves are located in the Sunday School wing in the "exit" hallway. Donations of stories or songs that have touched your heart are welcome! Simply leave your donation in the basket between the shelves. May God bless every reader!

Youth Ministry

Youth Ministry

Our Youth Ministry seeks to be "students transformed by God to transform the world" transformed as we Experience God, Connect with other Chrisitans and Grow in a relationship with God, transforming the world as we Serve in ministry and Invite others into God's story. Sunday Night Live (SNL)

During Sunday Night Live, families Experience God together. During the first half hou,r, families hang out and share a meal together. At 6 PM adults go to the Parents in Community Bible Study, children have a lesson and the middle schoolers and high schoolers split up. The youth spend half their time hanging out in the youth room and the other half experiencing God in an interactive lesson that applies to our lives. We meet from 5:30 - 7 every Sunday in the Fellowship Hall. Please contact Amy Brothers (261-1525) for additional information.

Small Groups

Our small groups help us fulfill God's purpose of Connect. By connecting in close relationship with other Christians, we learn how to connect with God. Small groups are geared toward students who have a committed relationship with Jesus Christ; however, our small groups are open to visitors who might meet Jesus as we live in community with Him and others. We meet at 10 AM on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at the Church. Please contact Amy Brothers (261-1525) for additional information.

Throughout the year we have special events including retreats, fellowship events, mission projects, and outreach opportunities.

Young Adult Ministry

The Young Adult Small group is a community of young Christians seeking to increase our faith and lead others to God. Our Core Values are prayer, authenticity, commitment, and confidentiality. We connect with Christ through prayer and Bible study. We connect with each other through reaching out to find one another and planning monthly special events. We serve the church and the world by using our gifts within the group and planning two group mission projects a year. We desire to lead others to God by our example and by inviting others to join our fellowship and study. We meet every Wednesdays from 5:45 to 6:45 PM in the youth room. . United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women meet the first Thursday of each month in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 AM. We usually have a program, devotions, refreshments, and a brief business meeting. We support District UMW activities and local Church Women United. A few of our projects include: sponsoring two blood drives each year, manning the Beach Food pantry, putting together health and School kits and layettes. We quilt, we bake, and we need more hands. The Louise Althouse Book Club meets on the second Monday of each month in members' homes. Please contact Lois Thomas (261-8294) for additional information.

Linus Quilters meet on Fridays at 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall during January and February. Please contact Sally Meagher (261-0276) for additional information.

All United Methodist Women's activities welcome visitors and new members.

United Methodist Men

The United Methodist Men's organization of Duck Church is a Christian Men's fellowship that meets monthly for breakfast on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Through our program, "Random Acts of Kindness", we respond to the needs of members of our church. This may be assistance for those who cannot physically do yard work, small construction projects, transportation for medical treatment or other transportation needs. We also sponsor yearly workdays at Duck Church. We welcome all of our men to attend
