Dear Friends,
I need your help. I’d like to know some of the things that keep your unchurched family members and
neighbors from being part of the church... things that create a distance between them, God, and the church.
I’d like you to suggest some topics for me to preach on that would make it easy for you to say to an unchurched friend, “Our pastor is going to deal with ----- for the next few weeks.
I know you want to hear it!” Perhaps it would be the hard
questions like: Why does God allow
people to suffer? Why do natural disasters happen? Does God love my Muslim neighbor? Or maybe it would be practical sermons about how to have a better life, such as: how to forgive, how to
deal with anger, how to deal with addictions, how to build a stronger family, how to pray for healing, or how to get out of debt.
By the way, it might be fun to ask someone you know who doesn’t attend church much: “if there was one thing you’d like to hear a pastor deal with, what would it be?” I’ll look forward to hearing your ideas. Please send them to me at:
